Brief Introduction:

Climbazole, the chemical name is 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-3,3-dimethyl-1(Imidazole-1-yl)-2-butanone or 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-1-(imidazol-1-yl)-3,3-dimethylbutan-2-one, is an anti-dandruff and antipruritic agent successfully developed by Bayer in Germany in 1977. This compound has unique antifungal ability and has inhibitory effects on Bacillus capitovalis, Pityrosporum ovale, Candida albicans, and Trichophyton. In addition, Climbazole is very suitable for use in formulations. It is not only stable to light and heat, but also easily soluble in organic solvents. Climbazole is a low-toxic substance, adding Climbazole will significantly increase the viscosity of shampoo.

Mechanism of Action:

Its mechanism is to eliminate external factors that cause dandruff by sterilizing and inhibiting bacteria, so as to achieve the effect of removing dandruff and relieving itching.

Solubility:

Climbazole is easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and toluene, but difficult to dissolve in water.

Specifications of our Climbazole:

Applications of Climbazole:

Climbazole has broad-spectrum bactericidal properties and is mainly used in antipruritic and anti-dandruff conditioning shampoos and hair care shampoos. It can also be used in high-end detergents such as antibacterial soaps, shower gels, medicated toothpastes, and mouthwashes.

Dosage:

The recommended dosage is between 0.5% and 1%.

Usage:

Mix Climbazole with 3 times more 6501(Coconut Diethanol Amide), heat to 95℃ to dissolve completely and homogenize for 5 minutes, then add to the formula and stir evenly, other appropriate amounts of surfactants can also be used to replace 6501.

Advantages of Use:

① Small dosage, low cost of use, good economic benefits;

② Strong inhibitory effect on dandruff-producing fungi (Pityrosporum ovale) and good effect;

③ Soluble in surfactants, simple to use, no worries about stratification;

④ Stable to metal ions, no yellowing, no discoloration.
