Applications of Cholesterol:
① Used to produce vitamin D3 and steroid hormones;
② Used as a multifunctional cosmetic additive with biological activity;
③ Used in liquid crystal display materials;
④ Cholesterol is a precursor for the synthesis of molting hormone, which can promote the smooth molting of shrimp and improve growth performance and survival rate;
⑤ Cholesterol is widely used in the construction and research of drug delivery systems in the field of medical research. Cholesterol can combine with drugs to form cholesterol-drug complexes, promoting targeted drug delivery. In addition, cholesterol can also be assembled into carriers such as nanoparticles with other functional materials to achieve drug protection and sustained release.
